Prior to joining UGA’s Russian Flagship Program in 2019, Dr. Shapiro taught Russian and Composition for American Academic Communication at Penn State University. Dr. Ivanova is an academic professional associate with the UGA Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies. She has coordinated the UGA Russian Flagship Program since January 2019 and the UGA Russian Residential Community since August 2020.
Jan Uelzmann teaches courses on all aspects of German studies, with a particular emphasis on 20th century culture, literature, and media. Trevor is an alumnus of the University of Oklahoma with degrees both in Linguistics (BA, cum laude) and German (BA, cum laude). His primary interest is phonetic variation as it relates to gender identity and sexual orientation and others’ perception of these speech varieties.
