German novelist Christopher Kloeble reading and discussion

German writer Christopher Kloeble reads from his new novel, Vatermilch, at a virtual reading on April 6, 2021 at 4pm.
Virtual
Program

Christopher Kloeble, German playwright and novelist, and Max Kade Foundation Writer-in-Residence at the University of Georgia's Department of Germanic & Slavic Studies, will read from Vatermilch (“Father’s Milk”), a story about a single father raising a daughter and reflecting on his own inadequate father.

Kloeble, who is in Germany due to Covid travel restrictions, will also read from his 2020 novel Das Museum der Welt, (“The Museum of the World”). This story features a young orphan in 19th century India who accompanies German scholar-scientists on an expedition throughout his home country.

The virtual reading event will be in both German and English, so non-German speakers also will be able to enjoy the reading. It is open to all, but requires registration for a Zoom link and password.
