The positions cover a broad range of fields, including business, international relations, PR, media, the natural sciences and the humanities. The level and range of tasks depends on the participants' language and academic background, as well as their commitment and motivation.

Previous interns were placed, for instance, at Auswärtiges Amt (Foreign Office), BusinessWeek ( Europe ), Checkpoint Charlie Foundation, Deutsche Bank, Hessen Ministry for Social Affairs, German Red Cross, Adam Opel, Siemens, SPD Fraction Frankfurt, and Wicke Attorneys at Law.

Internships typically begin in late May, last for 2-3 months, and might be paid depending on field and non-profit or profit-sector.

For more details about the society and complete description of application materials (resume, German cover letter etc.) and process, please go to www.usa-interns.org

SSG charges 75 Euro for its placement services, which includes an orientation session in Frankfurt and initial assistance with finding housing.
