Dilek Güngör
| Turkish-German journalist and author Dilek Güngör will be a special guest at the conference. She will be on campus for five days, starting Wednesday March 26. Güngör will visit with students, give a reading on Friday night, and participate in Saturday's roundtable discussion on Transnational Studies/Transnational Literature. Güngör is the author of three books, all of which reflect on Turkish life in Germany and the relationship of first and second generation Turkish-Germans to both their country of residence (and often of citizenship), Germany, and their country of national and/or cultural origin, Turkey. | Dilek Güngör is an up-and-coming journalist, columnist and author who in her writings blends her Turkish background and her German upbringing, providing a unique perspective on life's complexities in twenty-first century Germany. Born in Swabian Gmünd to Turkish Gastarbeiter, Güngör had a fairly normal childhood.
